Age Details

• Age as on 01-07-2026: TA 18-27 years; MTS 18-25 years.

Eligibility

Posts and Educational Requirements

• Tax Assistant (TA): Degree from a recognized university or equivalent qualification.
• Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): Matriculation (Class 10) pass or equivalent qualification from a recognized board.

Age Limits (as on 01-07-2026)

• TA: 18 to 27 years.
• MTS: 18 to 25 years.

Age Relaxation

• 5 years for UR/OBC candidates; 10 years for SC/ST candidates, as per DoPT OM No. DOPT-1720781414772 dated 04.03.2024.

Sports Eligibility

Meritorious sportspersons will be considered if they satisfy any one of the listed criteria (e.g., representation at national/international levels, university representation, or school-level achievements) and must meet the overall eligibility conditions in education and age.

• Only participation/achievements within 01-01-2022 to 30-06-2026 will be considered.

Instructions

• Applications must be submitted in the prescribed Annexure-A format via post/c courier to the Office of the Joint Commissioner of Income Tax, Headquarters (Personnel & Establishment), Kolkata, by 30-09-2026. Physical submission is required; no online submission is allowed for the main application.
• A supplementary Google Form must also be filled and submitted; this does not substitute the physical application.
• Attach attested photocopies of all supporting documents. Ensure the envelope clearly mentions the post applied for.
• Incomplete or unsigned applications, or those submitted after the due date, will be rejected.
• No traveling allowance will be paid for recruitment process stages.
• The department reserves the right to cancel the recruitment at any stage without reasons.

Notes:

• Photocopies of documents must be attested by a Gazetted Officer. Only one application per candidate will be entertained.
• If there is any discrepancy between Bengali, Hindi, and English versions of the notice, the English version shall prevail.
