Indian Army JAG Entry Scheme 125th Course (Apr 2027) - SSC (JAG) Notification for Law Graduates

Age Limit

• 21 to 27 years as on 01 Jan 2027.
• Date of Birth: Not earlier than 02 Jan 2000 and not later than 01 Jan 2006 (both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualification

• Minimum 55% aggregate marks in LLB degree (three-year professional course after graduation, or five-year after 10+2).
• CLAT PG 2026 score (conducted in December 2025) is mandatory for all candidates, including LLM-qualified and LLM-appearing candidates. No other CLAT PG score will be accepted.
• Candidates must be eligible for registration as an advocate with the Bar Council of India/State.
• The LLB degree must be from a college/university recognized by the Bar Council of India.
• All applicants must get their CLAT PG 2026 result verified at the Selection Centre before the SSB; failure to verify makes the candidate ineligible for SSB.

Nationality

• Indian citizen, or
• Subject of Nepal, or
• Person of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries with intent to settle in India (certificate of eligibility required for these categories, except Gorkha subjects of Nepal).

Marital Status

• Open to unmarried male and unmarried female law graduates.

Selection Process

1. Application submission and shortlisting based on CLAT PG score and vacancy-to-call-up ratio.
2. SSB centre and date selection (first-come-first-served).
3. SSB Interview (two stages) at Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Jalandhar.
4. Medical examination for candidates recommended after Stage II.
5. Merit list based on SSB marks.
6. Joining letter for pre-commission training at OTA, Chennai.

• Printed online application with self-attested photo.
• Matriculation/Secondary School Certificate and marks sheet.
• 12th class certificate and marks sheet.
• Graduation degree/provisional degree (for three-year LLB after graduation).
• LLB degree/provisional degree from a recognized university.
• All years/semesters mark sheets.
• Bar Council registration or certificate confirming recognition of the LLB course.
• CGPA-to-percentage conversion certificate if applicable.
• CLAT PG 2026 Score Card.
• DigiLocker certificates are not acceptable in place of original certificates.

• Visit www.joinindianarmy.nic.in and select Officer Entry Application/Login.
• Complete the registration (if not already registered) and apply online for Short Service Commission JAG Entry Course.
• Review all details carefully before submission and take two printouts of the application after submission.

Important Notes

• No changes after the application window closes.
• CGPA/grades must be converted to marks as per university policy.
• Ensure that name, parents’ names, and date of birth match the matriculation certificate exactly.
• Only one online application per candidate.
• Armed forces personnel should inform their Commanding Officer in writing and carry a countersigned application to the SSB.
• Requests to change SSB interview date or centre will not be entertained.
• Candidates must report within 7 days of candidature reporting date or candidature will be cancelled.
• If a candidate marries during the process, eligibility may be affected.
• English version of the notification prevails in case of discrepancies.
