Age Details

• Minimum age: 19 years
• Maximum age: 25 years as on 01 January 2027

Eligibility Details

• Nationality

  A candidate must be an Indian citizen, a subject of Nepal, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from certain countries with the intention of permanently settling in India, subject to the Government of India’s eligibility certificate (not required for Gorkha subjects of Nepal).

• Age Limit

  19 to 25 years as on 01 January 2027. Candidates born between 02 January 2002 and 01 January 2008 (both dates inclusive) are eligible.

• Educational Qualification and NCC Requirement

  For NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders, a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university and a minimum grade of ‘B’ in NCC ‘C’ Certificate are required, with service in NCC as applicable. Final-year students may apply if they complete their degree before the course begins. Wards of Battle Casualties have a separate quota and are not required to possess an NCC ‘C’ Certificate.

• Eligibility for Wards of Battle Casualties

  Unmarried sons and daughters (including legally adopted) of Army personnel classified as Battle Casualties are eligible under a separate quota of 7 vacancies, with the same graduation qualification but without the NCC ‘C’ Certificate requirement.

Salary and Benefits

During training at OTA Chennai (49 weeks), cadets receive a fixed stipend of ₹56,100 per month. Post-commissioning, expected CTC is ₹17-18 lakh per annum (Lieutenant, Pay Level 10), excluding medical cover and annual home-town travel allowance.

Selection Process

The selection includes Application, Shortlisting, SSB Interview, Medical Examination, Merit List, and Joining Letter for Pre-Commission Training at OTA Chennai from April 2027.
