Age Limits

• General: 45 years
• Category 2A/2B/3A/3B: 48 years
• SC/ST and Category-1: 50 years
• Minimum age: 18 years Relaxations may apply as per government rules.

Educational Qualifications by Post

• Kannada Language Teachers: Graduation with Kannada as an optional subject in Arts, or a four-year Kannada Pandith course; plus Kannada B.Ed or a Bachelor’s with Kannada as an optional subject and a postgraduate degree in Kannada.
• English Language Teachers: Graduation with English as an Arts subject, or equivalent postgraduate diploma in English with B.Ed in English, or a relevant postgraduate degree with Kannada studied up to degree/PUC/SSLC, or Kannada proficiency certificates and related diploma.
• Hindi Language Teachers: Graduation with Hindi as an optional subject and a B.Ed, or a postgraduate/graduate degree with Hindi as major plus B.Ed with Hindi, plus Kannada proficiency requirement.
• Mathematics Teachers: Graduation in Science with Mathematics and Physics (plus optional subject) and B.Ed in Science method; Kannada proficiency required.
• Science Teachers: Graduation in Science with Chemistry plus Botany/Zoology/Biology as optional; B.Ed in Science method; Kannada proficiency.
• Social Science Teachers: Graduation with any two of History, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Geography; B.Ed in Arts method; Kannada proficiency; English medium study for teaching.
• Computer Science Teachers (RPC only): Graduation in Engineering/Technology with CS/IS/Instrumentation/Electronics, or BCA, or B.Sc with CS, plus B.Ed with Kannada as subject and Kannada proficiency.
• Physical Education Teachers: Degree with B.P.Ed; Kannada proficiency.
• Graduate Drawing Teachers (KK cadre): B.F.A. or B.V.A. or Art Master certificate in Drawing/Painting; Kannada proficiency.
• Diploma Drawing Teachers (KK cadre): Diploma in Drawing/Painting/Applied Arts; Kannada proficiency.

Additional Mandatory Qualification

Candidates applying for posts 1-6 must hold a valid Karnataka TET (Paper-2) or CTET certificate to be eligible.

Application Fees

• General and other categories (2A/2B/3A/3B): ₹750 (₹500 application fee + ₹250 exam fee)
• SC/ST/Category-1/Ex-servicemen/Third Gender: ₹500 (₹250 application fee + ₹250 exam fee)
• Special Pay (PWD) candidates: ₹250 (exam fee only)
• If applying for more than one post, pay the first post’s fee and an additional ₹100 for each extra post

KREIS Teacher Recruitment 2026: Important Instructions

• Applications are online-only. No offline submissions.
• Only one online application per post; no edits after submission.
• Ensure all eligibility data is accurate; incorrect information may lead to rejection.
• Admit cards must be carried with a photo ID at the exam center.
• Exam center cannot be changed after allotment.
• Providing false information or forged documents can lead to disqualification and legal action.
• The mobile number and email provided will be the primary channels for official communication.

Exam and Selection

• Selection is based on a competitive written examination (no interview).
• Paper-I: General Knowledge; Paper-II: Subject-specific paper.
• Kannada Language Test (Qualifying): 150 marks; 50/150 required to qualify; not counted in final merit.
• There is negative marking: 0.25 marks per wrong answer.
