Age Limits

• General/Unreserved: Maximum 45 years
• Category 2A/2B/3A/3B: Maximum 48 years
• SC/ST and Category-1: Maximum 50 years Minimum age: 18 years. Relaxations may apply as per government rules.

Educational Qualifications

• Kannada Language Teachers: Graduation with Kannada as an optional subject in Arts, or the four-year Kannada Pandith course, plus Kannada B.Ed., or a Bachelor’s degree with Kannada as an optional subject plus a postgraduate degree in Kannada.
• English Language Teachers: Graduation with English as an optional subject in Arts, or a postgrad diploma in English from an RIE in South India, plus B.Ed. with English as primary method subject; or a post-graduate degree in English with Kannada studied up to degree/PUC/SSLC, or Kannada proficiency certificates (Kaav/Jaan/Ratna) or Diploma in Kannada.
• Hindi Language Teachers: Graduation with Hindi as an optional subject and a B.Ed., or a postgraduate/graduate degree with Hindi as major along with B.Ed. with Hindi as method subject, and Kannada language proficiency.
• Mathematics Teachers: Graduation in Science with Mathematics and Physics as integrated subjects (with an additional optional subject), plus B.Ed. in Science method; Kannada proficiency as above.
• Science Teachers: Graduation in Science with Chemistry as a combined subject plus Botany/Zoology/Biology as optional, plus B.Ed. in Science method; Kannada proficiency as above.
• Social Science Teachers: Graduation with any two of History, Economics, Political Science, Sociology and Geography as optional subjects in Arts, plus B.Ed. in Arts method; Kannada proficiency as above. English medium instruction noted for this post.
• Computer Science Teachers (RPC cadre only): Graduation in Engineering/Technology with CS/IS/Instrumentation/Electronics & Communication or BCA or B.Sc. with CS, plus B.Ed. with Kannada as a subject; or equivalent qualifications as applicable.
• Physical Education Teachers: Degree plus B.P.Ed., plus Kannada proficiency as above.
• Graduate Drawing Teachers (KK cadre only): B.F.A. or B.V.A. with Kannada proficiency as above.
• Diploma Drawing Teachers (KK cadre only): Diploma in Drawing/Painting/Commerce/Applied or Fine Arts, plus Kannada proficiency as above.

Mandatory additional qualification

Candidates applying for posts 1-6 must hold a valid Karnataka TET (Paper-2) or CTET certificate to be eligible.

• General and other categories (2A/2B/3A/3B): ₹750 (₹500 application fee + ₹250 exam fee)
• SC / ST / Category-1 / Ex-servicemen / Third Gender: ₹500 (₹250 application fee + ₹250 exam fee)
• Special Pay (PWD) candidates: ₹250 (exam fee only)
• If applying for more than one post, an additional ₹100 per extra post applies after paying the fee for the first post.
