Age Limits

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age: 40 years (General Merit)
• 43 years (Category 2A/2B/3A/3B)
• 45 years (SC/ST/Category-1)

Relaxations as per Karnataka Civil Services rules may apply for specific categories.

Educational Qualifications

• PUC (12th standard) with a minimum aggregate of 50%, and a Diploma in Elementary Education or a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), or a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
• Candidates belonging to SC/ST/Category-1/OBC with PwD status may have relaxed minimum marks as specified by the government.
• A valid Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) certificate issued by the Government of Karnataka or Government of India is required.

Notes

• The same qualifications apply to both KK and RPC cadres.
• Provisional results are not accepted; a final mark sheet is required by the application deadline. Original certificates must be produced at document verification.

Application Fee (Online)

• General Merit & Categories 2A/2B/3A/3B: ₹750 (₹500 application fee + ₹250 processing fee)
• SC / ST / Category-1 / Ex-Servicemen / Third Gender: ₹500 (₹250 application fee + ₹250 processing fee)
• Special Chetana (PwD): ₹250 (processing fee only)

Fee is non-refundable once paid and payable online.

• The exam pattern includes two papers of 100 marks each with negative marking.
• Kannada Language Test may be exempt for candidates who studied Kannada up to SSLC or hold a qualifying Kannada certificate; others must meet the minimum qualifying marks (note: marks in Kannada test do not count toward merit).
• Documents required for verification include Aadhaar, educational certificates, TET score, caste certificates (where applicable), income certificate (if required), and other specified documents.
