Age limit

Candidates must be between 18 and 30 years of age as on 01-08-2026. Relaxation of up to 5 years is provided for ST/SC candidates, or as notified by the Government.

JSO (DNA)

• Qualification: M.Sc. Forensic Science OR M.Sc. Human Genetics OR M.Sc. Biotechnology OR M.Sc. Biochemistry OR M.Sc. Microbiology OR M.Sc. Genetics/Molecular Biology from a recognized university or institute

JSO (Fingerprint)

• Qualification: M.Sc. Forensic Science from a recognized university or institute

JSO (Chemistry)

• Qualification: M.Sc. Forensic Science OR M.Sc. Chemistry OR M.Sc. Biochemistry from a recognized university or institute

JSO (Ballistics & Toolmarks)

• Qualification: M.Sc. Forensic Science OR M.Sc. Physics OR M.Sc. Mathematics/Applied Mathematics OR B.E. (Civil/Mechanical)

JSO (Questioned Documents)

• Qualification: M.Sc. Forensic Science from a recognized university or institute

JSO (Photography)

• Qualification: M.Sc. Forensic Science (specialization in Digital/Multimedia Forensics) OR B.E./B.Tech. or above in Computer Science or Electronics

JSO (Cyber Forensic)

• Qualification: M.Sc. (Cyber/Digital Forensics) OR M.Sc. Forensic Science (Digital/Cyber/Multimedia Forensics) OR B.Tech or above in Cyber/Digital Forensics OR MCA/M.Sc. IT OR B.E. and above in Computer Science

For all seven posts, working experience in a recognized forensic science laboratory is listed as desirable (not mandatory).
