Age Limit

• General (UR): 21-42 years
• Relaxations: SEBC/SC/ST/Women up to 5 years; PwD up to 10 years
• Ex-Servicemen: as per defence service period
• Age as on: 01-01-2025

Note: To be eligible for relaxation, candidates must not have been born before 02-01-1983 or after 01-01-2004 unless otherwise specified.

Educational Qualifications

• Option 1 - Bachelor’s Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology / Dairy Technology / Biotechnology / Agricultural Science / Oil Technology / Veterinary Science / Biochemistry / Microbiology, or an equivalent degree.
• Option 2 - Master’s Degree: Master’s degree in Food Technology / Dairy Technology / Biotechnology / Agricultural Science / Oil Technology / Veterinary Science / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Chemistry, or an equivalent degree.
• Option 3 - Doctorate Degree: Doctorate in Food Technology / Dairy Technology / Biotechnology / Agricultural Science / Oil Technology / Veterinary Science / Biochemistry / Microbiology, or an equivalent degree.

Additional Mandatory

• Adequate knowledge of Computer Applications.

Note: Disciplines under Food Technology include Food Engineering, Food Processing & Preservation, Food Safety & Quality Management, among others. Disciplines under Agricultural Science include Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Fisheries, and related fields.

Application Fee

• General / SEBC / Women / Ex-Servicemen / Sports Person: Rs. 500 (refundable only to candidates who appear for the Preliminary Examination)
• SC / ST / PwD: Exempt from fee

Note: Fee is payable online via the Odisha Treasury portal linked with the application form.

Important Instructions

• Only bonafide Indian citizens who can read, write, and speak Odia fluently are eligible.
• No hard copy application will be accepted; online submission only.
• One online application per candidate; multiple applications will be canceled.
• PwD candidates must have permanent disability of at least 40% to be eligible under PwD category.
• PwD candidates requiring a scribe must opt for one in the online form; scribe not allowed for the Computer Skill Test.
• Government servants/PSU employees must upload NOC from their controlling authority; those who become government servants after submission must produce NOC at Certificate Verification.
• Mobile phones and electronic gadgets are prohibited inside examination premises.
• No Admission Letters will be sent by post; download from the OSSC website.
• All information will be published on the OSSC website; check regularly for updates.
• Misrepresentation or use of forged documents will lead to cancellation and possible legal action.
• There is no provision for re-evaluation of scores; no correspondence will be entertained.
• All decisions of the Commission regarding eligibility and selection are final.
