UPPSC PCS Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 500 Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Posts

Age Details (as on 01-07-2026)

• General / EWS / OBC: 21 to 40 years
• SC / ST (UP), OBC (UP), UP Govt. employees, Basic Shiksha Parishad staff, skilled players: 21 to 45 years
• Persons with Disabilities (PH) of UP: 21 to 55 years
• Ex-Servicemen (UP): 21 to 40 years plus applicable Army service relaxation

Educational Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university is the minimum qualification for most posts.
• Some posts require additional qualifications as specified in the detailed post-wise notification.

Application Fee (Online)

• General / EWS / OBC: Rs. 125 (Rs. 100 exam fee + Rs. 25 processing fee)
• SC / ST (UP) and Ex-Servicemen (UP): Rs. 65
• PWD (UP): Rs. 25 (exempted from the exam fee)
• For Main Examination: Unreserved/EWS/OBC and candidates from other states pay Rs. 225 (Rs. 200 exam fee + Rs. 25 processing). SC/ST of UP pay Rs. 105. PWD of UP pay Rs. 25. Ex-Servicemen of UP pay Rs. 105.
• Fees are payable online through SBI MOPS.

Selection Process and How to Apply

Selection Stages

• Preliminary Examination (Objective, two papers of 200 marks each)
• Main Examination (Eight descriptive papers, totaling 1500 marks)
• Viva-Voce / Interview (100 marks)

How to Apply

1. Register on OTR (otr.pariksha.nic.in) to obtain an OTR number at least 72 hours before applying.
2. Visit uppsc.up.nic.in, select PCS 2026, and authenticate with OTR.
3. Fill Application Part-2 with personal details and qualifications.
4. Pay the examination fee via SBI MOPS and print the payment receipt.
5. Submit final application and print the form for records. Corrections are allowed only until the last date of modification (3 August 2026).

Note: Do not send hard copies at the Preliminary stage unless specifically requested by the Commission later in the process.

Pay Scales

Pay bands range from Rs. 9300-34800 with various grade pays to Rs. 15600-39100 with higher grade pay, depending on the post. Allowances may include DA, HRA, TA as per UP government rules.

Physical Eligibility (Select Posts)

Certain posts require physical measurement standards (e.g., DSP, Excise Inspector, Jail Superintendent, etc.). Verify post-specific requirements before applying.

Reservations

Reservation benefits are for Uttar Pradesh domicile residents. Other states may not be eligible for UP reservations. Horizontal reservations and other concessions are specified in the notification.
