Age Limit

Candidates must be between 21 and 30 years as on 01-01-2027 (born between 02-01-1997 and 01-01-2006).

Relaxation

SC/ST: up to 5 years; OBC: up to 3 years; PwBD: up to 10 years; Ex-servicemen and other categories may have further relaxations as specified in the notification.

Relaxations are cumulative where applicable.

Educational Qualifications

Candidates must have one of the following:

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a university incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India, or an institution established by an Act of Parliament or deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956; OR
• Passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India); OR
• A degree/diploma in Engineering from a recognized foreign university/college/institution; OR
• Passed the Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India); OR
• Passed the Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India; OR
• Passed the Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London (held after November 1959).

For Indian Naval Armament Service (Electronics Engineering) and Indian Radio Regulatory Service Group A, an M.Sc. degree or equivalent with Wireless Communication Electronics, Radio Physics, or Radio Engineering as a subject is also accepted, as specified in the notification.

Important: Following a Delhi High Court judgment, certain degrees obtained after admission post 31 May 2013 may not be admissible for ESE 2027. Eligibility for candidates with certain post-2013 degrees is subject to government decisions.

Candidates who have appeared for the qualifying examination may also apply conditionally; proof of passing must be uploaded within the specified window.

Medical & Physical Standards

A medical examination is required for final appointment, and candidates must meet the physical standards prescribed in the ESE 2027 Rules.

Application Fee

• General: ₹200
• Female candidates, SC, ST, and PwBD are exempt from payment.

Payment is payable online via net banking or card/UPI. Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. No fee exemption for OBC/EWS beyond those specified.

Important Instructions

• Eligibility must be satisfied for admission at all stages; e-Admit Card does not guarantee final clearance.
• Communication regarding the exam will be via the registered email and the Commission’s website.
• Keep the Application/Roll Number for future correspondence.
• Do not disclose identity on answer scripts; violations may lead to penalties.
• Review the Rules of ESE 2027 and Annexure-I for PwBD classifications before applying.
• The Commission does not entertain requests for non-selection reasons.
• Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
