Age Limits

18 to 25 years as on 01-01-2026. No age relaxation is provided for any category.

Eligibility Overview

CLW invites Indian nationals who are active sportspersons meeting the minimum sports norms for the relevant level. Candidates must be current athletes with qualifying sports achievements on or after 01-04-2024.

Level-wise Eligibility

• Level-5/4 (PB-I): Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university.
• Level-2 (PB-I): Higher Secondary (12th) or equivalent; OR Matriculation with ITI or apprenticeship; OR Matriculation plus a recognized diploma.
• Level-1 (PB-I): Secondary (10th) or equivalent; OR ITI; OR NAC (NCVT).

Important Dates

• Notice Date: 20-07-2026
• Opening date for applications: 21-07-2026 (10:00 hrs)
• Closing date for general candidates: 20-08-2026 (17:00 hrs)
• Closing date for candidates from specified regions/abroad: 31-08-2026 (17:00 hrs)
• Call letters: within 20 days from the closing date
• Sports Trial date/venue: not specified in the notification; to be announced on the CLW website

Application Fees

• SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/PwBD/Women/Minorities/EBC: Rs. 250
• All Other Candidates: Rs. 500 Fees must be paid via Indian Postal Order (IPO) or Bank Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of "PFA, Chittaranjan Locomotive Works" payable at Chittaranjan.

Additional Instructions

• There is no online application portal. Applications must be submitted offline.
• The envelope should be clearly marked with the specific category, sports discipline, and event/position as listed in the vacancy table.
• Serving government employees must apply through proper channel.
• Shortlisted candidates will be informed via website, email, and mobile number; report for the sports trial as per the notified date and venue.
• CLW reserves the right to cancel or modify the recruitment process at any time without assigning reasons.
• Canvassing of any kind will lead to disqualification.
• Any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the High Court of Calcutta.
