Age Details

Born between 01 January 2005 and 01 July 2009 (both dates inclusive). The upper age limit at enrolment is 22 years. No separate age relaxation categories are specified in this notification.

Educational and Musical Eligibility

Nationality

Open to Indian candidates from all districts of all States and all Union Territories of India.

Educational Qualification

Passed Matriculation/10th or equivalent with minimum pass marks from any Central, State or UT Government recognised School/Board, as on the date of registration.

Marital Status

Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible. Candidates must undertake not to marry during the four-year engagement period; violation leads to dismissal from service. Female candidates must additionally undertake not to become pregnant during the engagement period.

Musical Proficiency Requirements

Musical ability is mandatory in addition to educational qualification. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in music and ability to play at least one instrument from List A or List B (two instruments from both lists are desirable).

Lists

List A: Concert Flute/Piccolo, Oboe, Clarinet in Eb/Bb, Violin/Viola/String Bass, Saxophone in Eb/Bb, Percussion/Drums, French Horn in F/Bb, Baritone, Euphonium, Trumpet in Eb/C/Bb, All Indian Classical Instruments.

List B: Keyboard/Organ/Piano, Guitar (Acoustic/Lead/Bass), Bass/Tuba in Eb/Bb, Trombone in Bb/G.

Musical Experience Certificate

Candidates must possess one of the following:

• Grade 5 or equivalent in one instrument from a recognised music institute, or
• A Diploma or equivalent in music for Hindustani or Carnatic Classical Music from a recognised university, or
• Certificate of participation/awards for blowing instruments with staff notation (as per QR).

Important Dates

• Online registration starts: 20 July 2026 (1100 Hrs).
• Online registration closes: 02 August 2026 (2300 Hrs).
• Pre-registered Recruitment Rally: 31 August 2026 to 09 September 2026 at New Delhi and Bengaluru.
• Medical Examination: September 2026 (at 11 AFH Hindon and SMC AF Station Jalahalli).
• Provisional Select List (PSL) display: 14 November 2026.
• Enrolment List publication: After 01 December 2026.

Application Fee

Category: All Candidates - ₹100 plus 18% GST (non-refundable). The fee is non-refundable under any circumstances and cannot be carried forward to other recruitment processes.

Important Instructions

• Registration is online only; there is no offline mode.
• Mobile phones and electronic devices are strictly prohibited in testing areas and will lead to disqualification.
• Do not mark the Provisional Admit Card; doing so may lead to debarment.
• There is no payment required at any stage other than the stated application fee.
• The PSL is valid for six months from display and applies only to Intake 01/2027. Enrolment is merit-based and subject to medical fitness and vacancy.
• Any corrigendum will be published only on the official CASB portal.
• In case of discrepancy between English and regional versions, the English version is authentic.

• Musical instrument (from List A or B) for the practical test
• HB pencil, eraser, sharpener, glue stick, stapler, and black/blue pen
• Provisional Admit Card (colour printout)
• Filled application form (colour printout)
• Eight recent passport-size photographs
• Original or DigiLocker-verified Matriculation certificate and mark sheet
• Original and copies of Musical Experience Certificate
• COAFP/NOC/Discharge/Service certificates as applicable
• Tattoos photos as required
• Aadhaar Card or alternate photo ID for certain regions
• Signed Consent Form for PFT and Medical Tests (guardian sign if under 18)

Candidates must bring original documents for verification; DigiLocker certificates are acceptable if accessible.
