Age Limit (as on 01 January 2026)

• Not exceeding 25 years for B.Sc. Nautical Science
• Not exceeding 30 years for Second Mate (FG) / Dredge Mate Grade I
• Not exceeding 35 years for First Mate (FG) / Dredge Master Grade II
• Not exceeding 40 years for Master (FG) / Dredge Master Grade I
• Age relaxations: SC/ST +5 years, OBC +3 years
• The post is not suitable for PWD candidates

General Information / Instructions

• Trainee Pilots would be posted at Kolkata or Haldia depending on administrative convenience.
• Trainee Pilots posted at Haldia will be trained for the Haldia Channel only.
• Selected candidates must execute a bond to serve SMP Kolkata for at least 5 years after qualifying as Pilot; failure may require repayment of the last 6 months’ salary plus training costs.

• Submit the prescribed application form with detailed Bio-data (including name, DOB, permanent address, contact numbers, communication address, nationality, caste/ category as applicable, educational and professional qualifications, experience, and other relevant information).
• Include two recent passport-size photographs (signed).
• Include self-attested copies of caste certificates, educational and professional qualification certificates, age proof, and CDC.
• Envelope should be sealed and superscribed with the post applied for.
