NRSC Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 48 Research Scientist, Project Associate, Project Scientist & JRF Posts

Age limits by post (as on 21-08-2026)

• JRF: 28-33/upper age as per category.
• Research Scientist (M.Sc.-based): 28-33
• Research Scientist (M.Tech.-based): 30-35
• Project Associate-I/II: 35-40
• Project Scientist-I/II: 35-40
• Ex-Servicemen/PwBD relaxations as applicable.

Eligibility (post-wise overview)

• Research Scientist: M.E./M.Tech in Civil Engineering (Water Resources/Hydrology/Irrigation Water Management) with B.E./B.Tech in Civil/ Agriculture Engineering; or related qualifications as specified per post.
• Project Associate-I: B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering/Information Technology or equivalent; proficiency in programming and web technologies desirable.
• Project Associate-II: B.E./B.Tech in CS/IT or Geoinformatics plus 2 years R&D experience; or M.Sc. in Geoinformatics/Remote Sensing & GIS with B.Sc. in Physics/Mathematics plus 2 years R&D.
• Project Scientist-B/I: M.Sc./M.Sc Tech/M.Tech in Geology/Applied Geology or Remote Sensing & GIS-related fields; additional B.E./B.Tech in CS/Geoinformatics where applicable.
• Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Master’s degree in Physics/Atmospheric Science/Meteorology/Earth System Science/Geophysics/Remote Sensing & GIS/Geoinformatics; or equivalent.

Note: Post-specific qualifications are detailed in the NRSC notification. All degrees must be AICTE/UGC-recognised and completed within the prescribed duration.

Important Dates

• Open for online registration: 01-08-2026 (10:00 hrs)
• Closing date: 21-08-2026 (17:00 hrs)
• Fee payment deadline: 21-08-2026 (same as closing date)

Application Fee

• ₹250 per application (non-refundable for General/OBC).
• Fee is refundable for Women, SC/ST/PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates, subject to conditions. Refunds are made to the bank account details provided in the application; no refunds for non-appearance at interview.

Other instructions

• Separate online applications are required for each post.
• Incomplete applications will be rejected. Ensure all documents (photo, signature, mark sheets, category certificate, date of birth) are uploaded.
• For multiple applications to the same post, only the latest will be considered.
• Travel allowances (sleeper class/non-AC bus) may be paid for interview for outstation candidates.
• JRF candidates may be encouraged to pursue a PhD; external fellowships and timings may apply.
• Foreign degree equivalence must be certified by AIU; only Indian nationals may apply.
• This recruitment is project-based and temporary; no guaranteed regular appointment.
