Age Limits

• Age as on 01 January 2026: 21 to 35 years (inclusive).
• Relaxation as per government rules for SC/ST/OBC, PWD, dependents of Freedom Fighters, and ex-servicemen of Uttarakhand.

Eligibility for Kanisth Sahayak (Junior Assistant)

• Graduate degree from a university established by law in India, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government.
• Proficiency in Hindi and English.
• Hindi typing speed: 25 words per minute (with preference for English typing at 30 wpm).
• Adequate knowledge of computer operation.

Eligibility for Stenographer Grade-1/Personal Assistant

• Graduate degree from a university established by law in India, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government.
• Proficiency in Hindi and English.
• Hindi shorthand: 80 words per minute; Hindi typing: 25 words per minute. Preference for English shorthand at 80 wpm and English typing at 35 wpm.
• Good knowledge of computer operation.

Other Instructions

• Selection is based on a written objective-type examination (140 marks) followed by a 60-mark typing/shorthand test and document verification.
• The typing/shorthand test is qualifying in nature and subject to English typing/shorthand prerequisites if marks are tied.
• Candidates should apply well before the last date to avoid heavy website traffic.
• District preference must be indicated during online application; final allotment depends on merit and vacancy availability in the chosen district.
• A scribe facility and compensatory time are available for eligible benchmark disabled candidates, subject to submission of certificates before the exam.
• Prohibited items include cameras, calculators, mobile phones, and other electronic devices inside the examination centre.
